Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey so far. Without your support COCOOVE would not be the fashion label that it is.
2019 began with me commuting from Liverpool where I’m based to London ,sharing our new season looks and visions for the label with out partner platforms and stockists.
We featured in Lone Design Club, spring Marylebone store and summer Mayfair pop ups. The brand launched with a London fashion rental company. Brand awareness grew in 2019 with new stockist Brooks and Sharpe.
Over the Atlantic we had a presence in New York . Wolf and Badger stocking my designs at their Grand Street store, during New York Fashion week.
I began work with Los Angeles based PR Annabelle of Wear the Future. Annabelle represented the brand at exclusive Beverly Hills event in the summer . Hosted by Chris Han and W hotels.
I enjoyed and had the fantastic opportunity of working in Milan this year. A City I instantly fell in love with and has given me much inspiration for up coming collections.
My biggest decision this year was to re-brand . You can read more here about how we became COCOOVE.
Brings COCOOVE UK another year of Stylish, Original fashion .Designed to be worn for all occasions.Made ethically and sustainably.
Thank you for your continued support Ria and team COCOOVE xxx
Excited in Announcing the new look name Cocoove ,pronounced Co coo ve.
I decided to re-brand in order to trade mark and build my brand without opposition. The brands Ethics and design ethos remain the same. Still stylish and original just a brand new name and logo.
It was important to me to keep the names of my nieces in the title as they have grown to love the idea that they are part of the brand as do all the family who each have pieces in the collections named after them. As my niece shared with her class at show and tell last year .”Hello my name is Verity, but my family call me VeVe. When I grow up I’m going to work with My Auntie Ria .She designs dresses and I’m going to design Hats”. VeVe already had a real sense of belonging to the brand and who knows she may one day want to design Hats for Cocoove .
The name needed to be as original as the clothing, stylish and stand out. A name that is instantly recognisable and connected to the brand.
Stylish, Original, Setting the trend.Created by Ria. Her ambition was to create a timeless wardrobe for women with dresses and separates, which can be styled in several different ways, for all occasions. Ria creates many of her own prints, which are then digitally printed onto the fabrics. Designed with the stylish, confident women in mind to take her from day to night. An affordable luxury label made in the UK with attention to detail.
Believing that it is essential to put your heart into everything you do. Believing you should do what you are good at and what you are passionate about. I’m passionate about creating beautiful clothing for women. I source the majority of fabrics and manufacture all garments within the UK. Inspired by making changes and paving a way in fashion. I do this by asking questions, whilst producing stylish clothing which are produced ethically.
So as I start the new season I’m pleased to share with you the new looks and new name.
Neon brights were on the catwalks at Christian Siriano, Henry Holland and Naeem Khan for spring/summer.It has already made its way to our high street shelves. Think shades of highlighter and your good to go.
Below one of our favourite influencers The London Thing Miss Tania B shows us how its done at London Fashion week.
2. Tye Die
Don’t like colour? 2019 may be a testing time for you, along with neons and brights, there’ll be a load of tie dye about.
Here is our pick for summer dresses with a subtle tie dye effect.
Sunny yellows are going to be everywhere in 2019.
4. Animal print
The good news is that A/W leopard print trend. You’ll still be able to wear it come the spring as animal prints continued to rock the catwalks at fashion week.
I had the privilege of working last month with a super talented and creative team on my new season campaign for cocoveve.uk .
So much forward planning goes in before the day of the shoot, creating mood boards of how I want the new collection to look. Hoping the photography team, mua, model all see the vision I have and can interpret, to take it to the next level in their field of expertise.
Remember why you started
Day of the Fashion shoot
Vessel Studio in Liverpool was the venue for the day. As everyone arrived and began setting up, Vik from Sane Seven discussed further with me how I wanted the images to look and feel. So much more goes into creating that perfect shot than just your model standing in front of a lens and clicking away with the camera . Mood,Lighting,Colour,Attitude.
Amanda Borg was MUA . Her brief was to create a natural look with tousled hair for model Lauren Ianson.
TEAM Together Everyone Achieves More
Time to shoot !
Model Lauren was prepped, preened and ready to go. It was an energetic shoot with lots of movement. Marius( Sane Seven) guided Lauren through her positions and shots . I watched on at the monitor loving the images captured with each pose.
Creative people are curious,flexible,persistent,and independent
with tremendous spirit of adventure.
By Late afternoon we where finished and packed up. Excited to view the final images of my new collection and thankful to be able to work with a talented and professional team.
